Understanding The 3 Types of Search Queries
Despite the billions of searches that happens each day through search engines like Google, Bing and others, these can all be boiled down to 3 groupings of search queries. Getting a better understanding of these types of search queries can really support the individual search engine visibility efforts by distinguishing what is needed for SEM or SEO.
Types of Search Queries:
- Informational Search Queries – types of search queries that are looking for a particular piece of information (i.e. “What are the 3 types of search queries?”)
- Navigational Search Queries – directional search queries that could be for physical directions but also directing a searcher to a particular page/brand (i.e. “Corkboard Concepts glossary of terms”)
- Transactional Search Queries – search queries that signify action, which can be more than an actual purchase (i.e. “Nike shoe sales near me”)
