OEM stands for Original Equipment Manufacturer
Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) is a company that produces parts of a product to be used by other companies under the latter’s name. For example, some Dell laptop parts are manufactured by an OEM but are sold as an integrated product of Dell’s brand.
When it comes to the automotive industry, an OEM is the manufacturer of the original parts assembled during the vehicle’s construction. Other equipment by other brands that are installed after the construction is considered to be the aftermarket parts.
