Google Ads is revolutionizing the digital advertising landscape with the introduction of new Demand Gen campaigns, designed to supersede the existing Discovery campaigns. This shift marks a significant advancement in how businesses can connect with their audiences and drive meaningful actions!

Replacing Discovery Campaigns

Google recently unveiled a new type of campaign for Google Ads named Demand Gen campaigns. These campaigns were created to replace current Discovery campaigns, and Google will begin automatically upgrading any Discovery campaigns soon.

The new Demand Gen campaign type aims to drive conversions, store visits, and certain actions on websites. They are expected to drive much better performance than the Discovery campaigns they are replacing.

What Are Demand Gen Campaigns?

Demand Gen campaigns are a new type of campaign that will be highly powered by AI. These campaigns are going to allow advertisers to use a mix of creatives such as images, videos, and text.

By providing this mix of creatives to Google Ads, AI will be able to choose where your ads will perform best across a few different placements such as YouTube, Gmail, and the Google Discovery Feed. With multiple placement options, Google can connect with consumers more easily, and your ads will be able to travel with the consumer through the sales funnel

Demand Gen Vs. Discovery

While Demand Gen campaigns share some similarities with Discovery campaigns, there are some additional benefits that these new campaigns offer.

Enhanced Ad Placement and Reach

One of these benefits is the increased reach on YouTube. Discovery campaigns were only able to serve ads in YouTube Home and Watch Next Feeds. On the other hand, Demand Gen campaigns are going to be able to serve ads in these two placements along with YouTube In-Stream and YouTube Shorts.

Advanced Bidding Strategies

Another benefit that Demand Gen campaigns offer compared to Discovery campaigns is an additional bid strategy. Discovery campaigns only allow advertisers to select Maximize Conversions or Maximize Conversion Value, with the option to set a target CPA or target ROAS. Demand Gen campaigns offer these bid strategies, but also offer advertisers to select Maximize Clicks as the bid strategy.

Leveraging Lookalike Segments

A third benefit offered by Demand Gen campaigns is the ability to use Lookalike segments. Advertisers will be able to provide Google with first-party data, and Google will use its audience intent and interest signals to help find consumers similar to those who have interacted with their business.

Why Choose Demand Gen Campaigns for Your Business?

Demand Gen campaigns are a game-changer for businesses seeking to drive conversions, store visits, and website interactions. These campaigns are tailored to meet the evolving needs of digital marketing, providing a more personalized and effective advertising solution.

End Note

Google’s new Demand Gen campaigns represent a significant leap forward in digital advertising. As these campaigns continue to evolve, they offer businesses an unparalleled opportunity to reach their target audience more effectively. For those looking to stay ahead in the digital marketing arena, embracing these new Demand Gen campaigns is essential.
