GA stands for Google Analytics, a reporting tool from Google for understanding behavior on your website. GA is just the abbreviation for Analytics, but it is also a version of Analytics that has been regularly replaced by UA which stands for Universal Analytics, a newer version of Google Analytics. The different versions are apparent because of the tracking code begins with “UA-” followed by 9 additional numbers denoting the account number. Anything after the 9 digits is for the Property number.
