Use this guide to create a base foundation for your social media graphics to help you optimize your online presence across platforms.  

Understanding Social Media Dimensions: Aspect Ratio

The aspect ratio is the proportional relationship between the width and height of an image or video. This will determine how the content will display on different platforms and devices. Keeping some of the most common social media dimensions and aspect ratios in mind can help when creating your posts: Square (1:1) This ratio is ideal for Instagram where square posts fit neatly in your profile’s grid.  Landscape (16:9) A landscape ratio will work best on platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube. These wider images/ videos are often better suited for viewing on a desktop. Portrait (9:16) A portrait ratio is best for Instagram and Facebook stories and reels. TikTok and Snapchat also use this vertical format, as they fit best on mobile screens.
