DNS stands for Domain Name System.
DNS or Domain Name System, is a naming system that consists of information such as a directory of names and IP addresses.
DNS basically helps computers communicate with each other. For example, DNS converts human-readable domain names such as google.com into computer-readable IP address that looks something like (923.100.47.24), so that you can access the website.
People use DNS when they’re online doing pretty much everything: working online, checking emails, or surfing the internet. This directory of names is spread across the globe and stored on DNS servers where it communicates with each other everyday.
